Elder Law
Lewicky, O’Connor, Hunt & Meiser attorneys have broad experience in Elder Law and assist aging clients or clients with a disabling illness with long-term care and asset protection concerns.
Every elder law case is different and requires a good understanding of the elderly or disabled client’s medical condition, financial situation and family dynamics. Our initial elder law meetings allow us to listen carefully, develop a good understanding of the client’s goals, and identify problems that may stand in the way of achieving those goals. We work closely with clients and their families on setting up the best support structure for the family member in need, ways to preserve assets and quality of life. We review and explain available strategies to address a crisis that has already occurred, or to prepare for future needs. Elder law services include a review of the client’s estate plan and any required updates. Our approved VA attorney can advise Veterans regarding Veteran’s benefits, such as Veterans Aid & Attendance to offset the cost of assisted living. Throughout periods of transition, illness, or disability, we provide support to clients and their families.
