Estate Administration
Lewicky, O’Connor, Hunt & Meiser attorneys have broad experience in the administration of Maryland estates. We work closely with Personal Representatives from the opening of a new estate at the Register of Wills, throughout the administrative phase, to the closing of the estate. We guide Personal Representatives as they take into account the interests of all interested persons and creditors. As a Personal Representative identifies decedent’s assets, we provide advice on obtaining the necessary date of death values to be included in the required inventory for the Register of Wills. Our role is to assist the Personal Representative in taking prudent steps to preserve the value of the estate. Since the Register of Wills requires the filing of administration accounts from time to time, we assist the Personal Representative to establish a practical accounting system and prepare the accountings.
